An invitation I'm considering....

A black tie charity event at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. The invitation is from Wade Boggs who is a friend of a friend of mine. Haven't had an occasion to dress up in a long time so I might just go. Maybe.

I want to attend. But in the past year or so having to socialize with more than one person at a time makes my skin crawl. I have come to have an absolute revulsion to crowd scenes. Even at my pool if I'm there by myself and more than 3 or 4 others start showing up I'll leave. If I still lived up there attending one of the gatherings might not be something I would do anymore..

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">In sincere interest of abiding by the rules, which post of mine was in violation? While I can safely argue that neither one is a hijack, I want to be sure I understand what the rules are going forward.

Once this is clarified, I will explain my position, if necessary.

To be honest I am not sure how she designates what. I assume that if the reply is not on par with the subject of the thread then deletion is required. Of course I am being a smart ___ because I think that was one of the biggest jokes on here yet.

Here's what we know:

1. Black tie charity event
2. Seminole Casino
3. Wade Boggs.

Remarkably, here's what we don't know:

1. What the charity is.
2. What the entertainment/draw will be.
3. What food/nibbly things.
4. What the cost is to attend this event.

I guess if I were trying to make up my mind about attending a charity event, the most important things are things GL didn't mention.

But he did name drop Wade "Paternity Suit" Boggs, former baseball stud from the Boston Red Sox.

Ok...now anyone who knows GL knows a lot of what he did while in Cincinnati was bitch about how uncultured it was and how focused on sports it was. He isn't at all sports oriented.

So excuse me for scratching my head with the Wade Boggs thing. I see it in the same vein as him wanting to see Maria LaRosa do the chicken dance...nude...or mentioning that "asian dish" across the street. Regardless, it all makes my eyes roll.

Sorry, that's how I read it, and that's how I responded. But if others feel differently, hey, I can live with it. I'll just do a dedicated thread like I did before.
